Chapter 48- A MOTHER TURNED AGAINST HER SONSVivian entered the hospital through the east wing.
We followed at a distance.
She found Peter inside the abandoned surgical theater, where Emma and Natalie were restrained beneath the operating lights.
Peter held a gun.
Vivian slapped him.
“You were going to sacrifice me.”
Peter did not deny it.
“You taught us survival comes first.”
“I taught you loyalty.”
“No. You taught us fear.”
Grant’s face remained visible on a monitor beside them. He shouted for Vivian to release Emma.
Peter laughed.
“Now you remember you’re a father?”
Vivian moved toward Emma.
Peter raised the gun.
I stepped into the doorway.
“Let them go.”
Peter aimed at me instead.
My father appeared on the balcony above the theater.
Mercer entered through the opposite door.
For one suspended moment, every secret in our family stood in the same room.
