Chapter 8 - Rachel Finally Took ControlRachel stopped waiting for Logan to decide what the team would disclose.
She called Caldwell Industrial herself.
She told them her brake line appeared to have been intentionally damaged and that the racing organization was investigating.
Logan found out afterward.
He stormed into Frank’s repair shop.
“You just scared off our biggest sponsor.”
Rachel remained calm.
“If they leave because we reported a safety issue, they were never staying.”
Logan looked at Frank.
“This is what you wanted.”
Frank laughed.
“You still think this is about me?”
Rachel stepped forward.
“I’m leaving Harwood Racing.”
Logan stopped.
The anger disappeared from his face.
“You’re what?”
“After this investigation, I’m done under the current structure.”
“You’ll destroy the company.”
Rachel’s voice remained steady.
“Somebody nearly destroyed me.”
She separated her personal finances from the racing business.
She formally told the development program she still wanted to attend their evaluation if medically cleared.
And she removed Logan’s ability to make career decisions on her behalf.
The next morning, Caldwell paused sponsorship negotiations.
Then investigators found something new.

At 2:26 a.m., while Logan was still inside the garage, the rear service door had been opened manually.
Someone else had entered.
