Chapter 13 - One More Lie Changed the Direction AgainMason’s gloves were kept in an open cabinet.

Anyone could use them.

Then Tyler finally admitted something he had concealed.

He had borrowed Mason’s gloves the night before the crash.

Rachel stared at him.

“Why?”

“I was inspecting your car.”

“For who?”

Tyler looked down.

“Bennett.”

Evan had privately asked Tyler to assess whether Harwood Racing was cutting maintenance corners because Logan was trying to sell part of the team.

Tyler agreed because he was considering Bennett’s job offer.

Rachel looked sick.

“You inspected my car for a competitor?”

“Yes.”

“Did you cut the line?”

“No.”

“Then what did you see?”

Tyler hesitated.

“When I finished, somebody was near the rear door.”

“Who?”

“I couldn’t see the face.”

Frank leaned forward.

“What did you see?”

“A gray Harwood jacket.”

Frank knew almost everyone who owned one.

One person came to mind immediately.

Diane.

Rachel’s mother.

Frank’s ex-wife.
