Chapter 3 - Someone Used Mason’s NameThe next morning, Mason arrived at Frank’s house with his laptop and several maintenance sheets.

Rachel rested upstairs.
Frank poured coffee.
“Tell me what we actually know.”
Mason opened the access log.
“Logan entered at 2:13 and left at 2:31.”
“Anyone else?”
“No badge entry.”
“That mean nobody else entered?”
Mason shook his head.
The rear service door had a mechanical emergency release.
Someone could open it without using an electronic badge.
Then Mason showed him Rachel’s brake inspection report.
The system had passed inspection the previous afternoon.
No leak.
No pressure problem.
Frank frowned.
“Who checked it?”
“Mason and Tyler.”
Tyler Shaw was a talented twenty-six-year-old technician Rachel had hired two years earlier.
Frank knew him well enough to know he understood brakes.
Mason pulled out another page.
Three days before the crash, Rachel had emailed the racing series about whether she could leave Harwood Racing before the season ended.
Yesterday, someone had printed that email.
Frank studied the printer history.
The account used belonged to Mason.
“I didn’t print it,” Mason said.
Frank looked at him.
“You sure?”
“I wasn’t even in the office.”
Mason kept his login information beneath the keyboard because he hated resetting passwords.
Several crew members knew that.
Frank leaned back.
Now they had another question.

Someone inside the team had wanted a paper copy of Rachel’s plans.
And they had wanted their own name nowhere near it.
