Chapter 7 - Dean Had a Reason to Be AngryDean was twenty-nine and had grown up around Frank’s repair shop.

Rachel treated him almost like a younger brother.

When Frank questioned him, Dean immediately became defensive.

“You think I cut her brakes?”

“You were there late.”

“Until midnight.”

“Did you come back?”

“No.”

“Did you use the rear door?”

“No.”

Frank asked about Rachel’s plans to restructure the team.

Dean’s expression changed.

“She was going to fire me.”

Frank frowned.

“She told me she was restructuring.”

“She told me to start looking at other teams.”

Dean had made two major pit-stop mistakes that season.

He knew Rachel’s decision wasn’t completely unfair.

He was still angry.

Then he showed Frank something important.

At 2:08 that morning, Dean had received a text from an unfamiliar number.

Is Logan still at the garage?

Dean had replied:

No clue. Ask him.

The number never responded.

Mason later checked crew records.

The phone had once been used by a temporary team contractor.

A contractor originally hired through Logan.

Frank’s attention swung back toward his son-in-law.

But now the question had changed.

Someone else had been interested in Logan’s location just five minutes before his badge entered the garage.
