Victor blamed me publicly without naming me.

The lender responded with a factual statement confirming an independent review.
That made things worse.
Helena resigned from two charity boards.
Raul stopped attending his country club.
Nora suspended her marketing company because its accounts were being reviewed.
Consequences spread to people who had never seen the violence.
That troubled me.
An electrician losing work did not deserve punishment because Victor hit his pregnant wife.
The restructuring advisers tried to separate viable business operations from family misconduct.
I supported that effort even when Victor’s attorneys described my cooperation as proof I still wanted control.

Raul answered that he was seventy-one and unwilling to lose his home or face criminal exposure for transactions Victor controlled.
For the first time, the family alliance fractured from inside.
Victor sent one message to Nora before his attorney stopped him.
