If she told everything, the insurer might withdraw, the restaurant could close, and Maren might be judged for trying to manage her own abuse. Judith gave the complete timeline. She admitted the retirement guarantee, the old pantry incident, the advice she had given Maren, and every fact learned after the gala. When she finished, Maren thanked the reviewer, not her mother. Truth had ended the family strategy of silence. It had not restored trust.
