Not secretly accessed.
Produced through the civil discovery process after Claire filed for legal separation and the commercial disputes expanded.
Claire had not filed for divorce yet.
She wanted immediate financial boundaries first.
Among Daniel’s documents was a spreadsheet.

Mercer Household Transition.
Created seven months earlier.
Claire felt sick before opening it.
The spreadsheet listed:
Mansion equity.
Reed Property distributions.
Mercer Architectural Fixtures value.
Evelyn support.
Potential marital claims.
Then a line:
RPH control — disputed / leverage.
Rachel read quietly.
“RPH means Reed Property Holdings.”
“I know.”
Claire continued down the spreadsheet.
Daniel had modeled different divorce scenarios.
If Claire kept the mansion.
If Daniel claimed reimbursement for property improvements.
If Mercer Architectural Fixtures could establish long-term control of the Irvine building.
If Mercer Capital Advisory had rights to Reed Property distributions.
Not all of the assumptions were legally valid.
That was not the point.
Daniel had been preparing to argue them.

He feared the day she noticed.

A draft postnuptial agreement.

That the Irvine building receive a long-term purchase option favoring Mercer Architectural Fixtures.
And that Reed Property Holdings distributions be treated as available for household support.

Claire leaned back.
