David testified after her. He looked sick while doing it, but he did it. He confirmed that the party, the photographs, and the pressure around the trust were all connected. He confirmed he saw Robert holding Lily down while Patricia pressed her face to the bedframe.

Patricia’s attorney attacked his credibility immediately.

David accepted it.

“I deserve that,” he said. “I should still be under oath when I tell it.”

The judge did not rule from outrage. She ruled from evidence.

By the time the lunch recess ended, a plenary order of protection was granted. Patricia and Robert were prohibited from contacting Lily or Claire.

Outside the courthouse, Martin Wechsler informed all counsel that Eleanor had removed Patricia and Robert from any advisory role in her trust, installed an independent fiduciary, and ordered a full recovery review.

The exposure was no longer stoppable.
