The bank's review took seven weeks. Access logs, employee notes, payment history and interviews supported what no single document could prove. Caroline initiated the $5,800 request. Wade presented the old power of attorney, described Margaret as informed, and increased the line four times after Caroline objected. Caroline made six payments, including the reversed preschool money. Her cruel letter triggered the revocation but also concealed her role. Wade's employer found two later draws had covered client refunds he should have paid from his company. He was placed on leave and entered a repayment plan while the bank reviewed further action. Caroline disclosed everything to her dental practice before investigators called. She kept her job but lost billing access and entered financial counseling. Margaret was removed from the debt after mediation, though she paid her own legal costs. Wade moved into an apartment. Caroline formally separated. No one was innocent or rescued from the price.
