Theodore committed the required operating funds without attaching his name to the replacement program.
For once, he gave money without purchasing control.
June provided employment records and described how Beatrice used nursing-home assistance to silence staff.
Paul submitted work orders showing the staged apartment and unsafe basement room.
The counseling provider confirmed it never treated my daughters despite repeated foundation charges.
The girls’ school supplied attendance records proving they were in class during programs the foundation claimed they attended.
A forensic accountant traced payments from the restricted housing grant to Beatrice’s company and then toward personal mortgage, travel, and event expenses.
Property appraisers established that Windward Cottage had been assigned an inflated acquisition value.
The final evidence came from the foundation’s email archive.
Six weeks before Andrew died, he sent Theodore a message questioning the same housing transaction.
Bellevue Residential is Mom’s company, he wrote. We cannot call this independent acquisition. Please do not approve payment until I finish reviewing it.
Theodore’s reply appeared beneath it.
Let’s resolve after the winter campaign. We can’t unsettle donors now.
Andrew died before the campaign ended.
Theodore had not known the full scheme.
He had known enough to ask one more question and had chosen not to.
He gave the email to the attorney general without being ordered.
With Harbor Light ready to protect current residents, the board could no longer use vulnerable families as a reason to preserve Beatrice’s control.
A special vote was scheduled.
