“I intended to remove his hand from me.”
The deposition continued.
Boringly.
That was good.
Lily’s evidence stood on its own.

Therapy records.
Dr. Marks clarifying his letter.
Emails discussing documenting “episodes.”
Richard’s divorce consultations.
Property drafts.
Financial records.
Private-investigator invoices.
Carmen’s account.
Lender communications.
The Easter documents.
No single paper solved everything.
Together they showed pattern.
The physical assault case resolved separately through a negotiated process involving accountability, counseling requirements and restrictions on contact.
No spectacular prison term.
No mansion raid.
The divorce resolved more slowly.
Peachtree Annex remained Lily’s separate property after detailed tracing and negotiated treatment of certain marital contributions.
Richard received appropriate credits for documented marital investments benefiting the property.
Lily hated that emotionally.
Then accepted it legally.
Fairness did not require pretending Richard contributed nothing.
The Bennett mansion stayed with the Bennett family entity.
Lily took personal property that belonged to her.
Left several expensive pieces she once thought she cared about.
Bennett Urban survived.
Smaller.
More conservative.
Margaret ceded more operational control to a professional CEO because lenders demanded governance changes.
Richard remained an owner.
Not sole ruler.
Victor returned to Savannah.
He did not move into Lily’s life.
